12 Hour Search Day, Temperature: 40-60F day, <30F night, Elevation: 4000-6600ft, Windy

 PERSONAL GEAR (Put Name AND Identifier on ALL equipment)

 Daypack

Hydration Bladder X 2(140 oz) or equivalent – re-supply planned but not guaranteed

Electrolyte replacement (Gatorade, tablets, etc.)

Headlamp

Beam Flashlight with wrist lanyard

Batteries for both (enough to re-supply both, in zip-lock bag)

Food for 12 hours (Trail mix, PB&J, bars, gels, Red Bull)

            Pack some food in zip-lock, put zip-lock in Buddy’s Pack (no need to drop gear to             retrieve food – extra incentive to look out for Buddy)

Map Case (waterproof)

Knife, accessible, other than multi-tool (folding or fixed blade)

Fleece Jacket

Shell (windproof)

Wool or Fleece Cap

Socks (1 pair)

Spare Long Sleeved Shirt

Towel (2 X 2ft)

Gloves X 2 pair (leather)

Gloves (insulated)

Helmet (climbing or biking)

Whistle – attached to shoulder strap (maritime variety – works when wet)

Glow Sticks X 2 (8-12 hour, personal)

Signal Mirror (can be lid of compass)

Compass (GPS, Altimeter watch, any navigational advantage but you must carry it)

Personal First Aid Kit (blister care is essential), w/ Snake Bite Venom Extractor

Toilet Paper (in zip-lock bag)

Gaiters (especially if using trail shoes)

Emergency Space Blanket

Personal Medications (including ibuprofen, acetaminophen, aspirin, allergy remedies)

Body Glide (anti-friction / anti-chafe, found in running stores, EMS, REI)

Bug Repellant (not sure if necessary)

Rappel Harness

Descent device (ATC, Figure 8) use to be decided on-site

Prussic loops (may be issued on-site)

Carabiners (3, locking)

Trekking Poles / Walking Stick
